Myzone reaches installation milestone

Global wearable tech company Myzone has completed its 4000 installation at Fitness World, Durham in North Carolina.

The wearable tracker, which uses real time heart rate monitoring, social media and smartphone-based gamification to track and incentivise its users, will be used to track heart rate during personal training sessions at the facility.

Fitness World will incorporate Myzone technology into its athletic movement and training (AMP) programme, a HIIT workout where heart rate monitoring plays a key element.

Myzone president Emmett Williams said: “Our overall goal is to help operators engage their members, both intrinsically and extrinsically, assisting them to obtain the health and fitness results he/she wants.”

Ben Kirchner, manager at Fitness World, said: “Our staff and participants love the real-time feedback they get when they are working out, and with myzone, they are encouraged to not only work harder, but smarter. Myzone’s effort point system encourages everyone in the room.”

As of January 2017 Myzone boasts over 50,000 users and has been installed at 4000 locations across 35 countries.
